First Steps Fine Arts Program (ages 2-5)

Have your toddler or preschooler join us for an un-parented music and movement program, concentrating on active bodies to inspire active minds!  We focus on cognitive learning; social, emotional and physical development; social interaction and play.  Here, your children will participate in creative activities, social games & play, music, dance, arts and crafts, yoga, drama and role-playing, in a fun active atmosphere!

Tumble & Twirl (ages 2 through 4)

This is a super fun class introducing students to the basics of acro and baton. We use fun, popular music to move to, and we get to do some fun holding, catching and tossing of batons!

Twinkle Toes (ages 2 through 4)

We use a variety of music for this class – from classical to popular music that is fun and familiar to them – and we expand on the techniques learned by our younger classes. We do a combination of pre-ballet steps, pre-tap skills, using props, games and imaginative movements are still used to stimulate a passion and love for movement!

Tiny Steps with Parents (ages 1 & 2)

We use music classical pop music while learning basic dance and creative movement skills with you by their side. We learn all about warming up, stretching, nursery rhymes, role playing and use of props to foster a love for dance, enhance gross motor skills and give your child and you an experience you will always remember!

Shining Stars (ages 2 through 4)

In this class, your child will be learning and building on pre-jazz and pre-hip-hop skills. Students are introduced to activities that promote and require spatial awareness, balance, muscular control, creativity and imagination – including games and use of props. To promote musicality, we also use a variety of fun music for this class, including popular music that is fun and familiar to them. Definitely one of our most popular classes!

Cecchetti Method & Royal Academy of Dance
Ballet develops grace, poise, coordination, balance, strength and discipline. Ballet is the staple behind all classical dance forms and as such, is necessary in order to progress into the higher levels of all other disciplines.

Jazz is a high-energy class, incorporating technically challenging moves, such as on kicks, jumps, turns, which build strength, endurance and flexibility. Jazz has its roots in many forms of music, and tends to be fun, energetic class for all participants.

Tap is about creating music through your feet, and expressing it through your body. Tap is a fast-paced, challenging class while being extremely fun and creative at the same time.

Hip-Hop is about coordination, power, excitement and enjoyment! Taking roots in street dance and break dance, hip-hop is one of the most popular styles of dance today, and is featured in music videos, stage performances and on television.

Lyrical & Contemporary

Lyrical/Contemporary takes its roots in ballet and modern, but has more of an organic stance to movement. This dance form uses improvisation, movements, gestures, mimes and dancing to express an emotion, situation, lyrics or a feeling to music.

**All modern & contemporary classes will be in the year-end recital.

Acrobatic Arts
AcroDance is a discipline which focuses on five key elements that are fundamental to today’s dance training: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Instructors will safely guide students through the progression of the syllabus levels, from log rolls and somersaults to tumbling effortlessly across the stage.

**AcroDance classes may be in the year-end recital or competitive, based on teacher discretion.

Progressive Ballet Technique
A class solely designed by a dancer, for dancers. This class focuses on developing muscle memory, strength, coordination and control over specific muscle groups that are used in dance. The goal of conditioning class is for injury prevention – stopping injuries before they happen – and rehabilitation – strengthening after an injury.

**Conditioning classes will not be in the year-end recital.
